The Road to 40

This is it. I have 342 days left until the big 4-0. It is supposed to be a huge milestone. One that many people fear. Yes, I fear it too. I feel like I will turn into a granny the moment I hit 40. Yes, I know 40 is the new 30. Or the new 20, depending on who you ask. Yes, my daughter tells me I'm not old, but really, what is she supposed to say? Here mom I got you some Regenerist?

40 is the place I want to be happy in. So, I made a list of 39 things I want to do before the big one. I hope to cross each and every single item by then. Here it goes:



1. become a blogger – in progress  - do it for 39 months!

2. Rediscover project life. Document a week in the life. Do a December Daily Album.
3. photo a day of my life on my 39th year – print them!!

4. 39 hours (days?) of service

5. 39 Random Acts of  Kindness, encourage people to pay it forward.

6. 39 books – 13 classics, 13 top 100 of 2012-2013, 13 of my favorites

7. walk across 39 bridges

8. fly down 39 slides

9. 39 pinterest pins. Make sure they don't make it to the fail blog ;)

10. make a list of 39 things I have learned and 39 things I am thankful for.

11. join an instawalk

12. macarons – from scratch. Perfect the technique!

13. bake pies:  lemon meringue pie/pecan pie/banana crème pie

14. ditto Santiago torte

15. make beef wellington, I've done this before, but it's been a while since I last tried it and its one of my favorites. Why haven't I baked one in over ten years if I like it so much?????

16. bake a pithivier no, trader Joe’s doesn’t count.

17. take a train to Portland?

18. Visit Chihuly either Tacoma Glass Museum or Seattle Garden

19. Visit King Tut

20. Go to the Opera

21. Pop culture: Wicked/. Madonna

22. NFL Seahawks and MLB Mariners

23. Michigan

24. visit Mr. Rainier/glacier

25. fill a room with balloons

26. ferry ride

27. learn a new language - maybe html?

28. take a photo class

29. plant tulips & herb garden

30. roller-skate with friends

31. Take a dance class (ballroom paso, tango or foxtrot)

32. 39 barre 3 classes in 39 days

33. take (and survive! ) 39 trx classes

34. run a 5k race or two

35. Detox diet :39 days of less than 1500 cal with healthy meals. lose the last 20 lbs (happy they are not 39 or 40!) -- update, it's not 20, it's only 14!!!! Still reaching out for 20 though.

36. visit the international district on Chinese new year or Japanese festival

37. ride my bike with the girls on alki beach – maybe 3.9 miles? No, I’m not big on riding bikes.There's no way I'd be able to ride 39 miles in a day.

38. ride the seattle ferris wheel
  
39. go to canon beach and celebrate the 40th year of my life,
